3.4 plugin updates and installs hanging

    Hi guys,
    Since updating to 3.4, my plugin updates and installs are hanging on the download page. They are neither offering me the ‘activate plugin’ nor ‘return to plugin page’ options. Just hanging on the download. When I return to the plugins page via the dashboard menu, the plugins and updates are showing as normal. Not a prohibitive problem but I just thought I’d better report it as a potential bug.

    It’s not a bug as it’s specific to you. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Good shout Esmi, as ever.

    Tracked it down to my ‘Improve My Load Times’ compression plugin. I’ll flag it up to the developer now. Like I said, not terminal but a pain all the same.
