Have you tried repairing your database?
How would I do that? Sorry… I’m a noob.
I downloaded a plugin that is supposed to repair databases. It didn’t change the number of comments (still showing more existing than approved).
Anyone else have an idea?
I figured it out. There were six strange comments in my database table that were marked as “trash” instead of approved. I deleted them manually using myPhpAdmin and the numbers listed in the dashboard are now in sync.

When I log into the dashboard for my blog, the main page shows that I have 4,200 comments and 4,194 approved comments. When I click the comments section, it shows that I have 4,194 comments with zero comments pending approval.
Why are these numbers out of sync?
