   I'd like to use the_content to show the first few words from a post but only the text... no images, videos or anything else... IS there anyway I can strip the the_content of everything except text?

   I cant use the except bc I'm using that for something else....

   sorry for not putting "the_content" in the post title...

   No problem if you use "the_excerpt()" twice.
