Hi Guys and Girls. The url of my test website is http://www.nomoretables.com/wp285/

    I'm using the Thematic framework.

I scoured the forums looking for a way to link a page to a specific catagory by using a plugin and found it at the link below.

How to easily display links to both Pages and Categories in the blog navigation header?

I installed the plugin Page Links To and got it working by creating a relative link that links the Portfolio 2 page to the category, portfolio.

However, once one has clicked on the Portfolio 2 page, although working, you will notice by hovering over the page again that the browser status bar shows the link has another /category/portfolio added on. From there on clicking on any other page and then back to Porfolio 2 page, the link is also wrong, only clicking back to home, and then to Portfolio 2 page again fixes the link url, until of course you click on it again. The relative path I used in "Page links To" is
"category/portfolio2/" and I tried it without the last slash.

I got it working perfectly with a absolute link to the Porfolio page, "http://localhost/wp285/category/portfolio/" but this meant that I had to change the link manually when I made the site live to "http://www.nomoretables.com/wp285/category/portfolio/" and will be the case for all my link when I go live or make changes.

    Thanks
    Nomoretables

Wouldn't advise using a relative link there. Use the correct URL that plugin is requesting.

After you move your WordPress install to the live domain use this plugin to fix those URLs: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-and-replace/
