Hi,
I'm having a strange problem getting my blog to come up in a google search. The blog has been up for months now. I'm not going to use the actual blog's name here, but let's say it was called...
How to Chop Wood - Jon Doy's Blog
I find that if I google the search string, "Jon Doy" (The actual persons name in the blog is not common), then I don't get my blog coming up on any searches at all. I've checked down though 15 search pages in google. If I google "Jon Doy Blog" it comes right up to the top of the search. The only other thing that I can tell you is that the structure of the blog is http://www.jondoy.com/blog and the main website is http://www.jondoy.com. I have all-in-one seo installed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hypothetical situations don't get us very far. Why not post the site URL so people can have a look at the source code?
Have you got any decent incoming links from other sites? Is the site actually being crawled, or is it blocked via robots.txt? Or is anything else like a noindex/nofollow causing problems?
Yep, post the real site url. It's just easier.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. The blog URL is
http://www.leonardjacobson.com/blog
and the main website is
http://www.leonardjacobson.com
The page is not blocked by robots and there is no noindex/nofollow.
Thanks for your assistance.
Seems fine to me (in the UK):
[leonard jacobson] comes up as #1.
[living in the present moment] comes up at #15.
If you're still having the same problem, make sure you're logged out of your Google account - just in case you've got personalised search hiding it from your results.
ebellaff, You're doing much, much better on Google than most because you've got good sitelinks - Teachings, About Leonard, Blog, Join Email List, Books - that are listed for a search on your name. Not everyone has those.
