   every time I try to upload and image I get this error:

   Unable to create directory /home/vix455/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2009/11. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

   Anyone know how to remedy?

   If you have ftp access to your server, check in the directory wp-content is there is a directory called 'uploads' Find out if it is writable (set to 0755) sometimes visible by right-clicking on the directory, depending on your ftp program).
   Otherwise: create the directory "uploads" from within your ft program and make it writable. Wordpress needs this one to create the dircetories "2009" and then "11" in that one. This is because you checkmarked monthly based archiving in your media settings.
