Wordpress Flash Uploader "Crunching..." (3 posts)

Hello all. The flash uploader on my Wordpress installation has ceased functioning! As well as the browser uploader, but I'll get to that in a moment.

When I upload most files, the Flash uploader reaches 100% and says "crunching..." It never does anything else after this. I've noticed that SOMETIMES the image will be added to the directory, but not always and never into the media library.

When I upload a very small JPG (8k) the Flash uploader won't do anything. Sits at 0%.

The browser uploader does something similar, but without the "Crunching" message obviously. Neither uploader is working for me at the moment. No error messages or anything.

Here's what happened: I moved the Wordpress installation from one server to another. I updated all the settings and did an exact clone of the SQL when I transferred it.

Here's what I've tried so far:
    - After setting wp-content/uploads permissions to 777 and setting the upload directory in the "Miscellaneous" settings to "wp-content/uploads" I still get nothing.
    - I've tried all sorts of CHMODs on all the directories involved
    - I've tried creating a few new directories, none work
    - I tried downloading a few plugins that were supposed to alter my HTACCESS to make something work better. Nothing changed, so I deleted them.
    - I installed NextGEN gallery. It works perfectly, uploading and everything.

One thing that makes me suspicious: The folders that wordpress create are owned by APACHE on my server. The folders I create through FTP are not owned by APACHE. But I do not have the ability to CHOWN on my server.

I've been trying to make this work for a couple days now. If anyone has seen this problem and fixed it, let me know.

Tried in Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer.

Something different in IE - after awhile I get a little red text that says "HTTP Error"

    Good chance it's mod_security, or mod_security2 at work I reckon. :-/
