    maybe the dumbest question ever but in the lessons section, the very first thing it says to do is log into the administration panel. Um, where the heck is this login page located?

    yourdomain.com/wp-login.php

    you may add the "meta" widget to your sidebar to access the admin panel from your home page.

    ok but I'm still not able to log in using yourdomain.com/wp-login.php Am I still missing something? 404 not found...

    In case you didn't know this, yourdomain means you type in the name of your domain. You don't literally type in "yourdomain". Probably obvious, but in case you are a complete newbie, there's a chance you might not know something like this.

    thanks, I am a complete newbie but I did know that. I put the correct domain in place of "yourdomain" but I still get the 404 error...I appreciate the help.

    your installation was not completed.
    did you create database?

    I figured it out. I had been putting .com/wp-login.php
    What I needed to put was .com/wordpress/wp-login.php
