On my dashboard I see the category "contact". I can't get it over onto my landing page to be used as my "client capture" for people visiting my website requesting loan information. Would I be better served using a plug in or widget to accomplish this task?

Categories are simply post containers. By themselves, they don't display anything. Try creating a Page called Contact instead.

Posted 3 weeks ago #Try creating a page and put the page in html mode (upper right hand side of text editor box) and paste this code into the text editor box:
<!--contact form-->
Save it and check to see the page listed in your menu. Then click on that and see if it created a contact form for you.

Adding in a contact form shortcode won't work unless you've already installed a contact form plugin - in which case you need the right shortcode.
