hi i am new to this stuff also.
i have a site i bought from the internet all ready made.
i have set up a word press blog-site i dont know what to call it sorry.
i have it on line with plug-ins etc.
BUT i do not have any of my actual site uploaded to it.
and i do not know how to go about getting it from my host over to word press? i have uploaded it to my host server, may be the wrong folder or something. i have it uploaded to html_public.
but nothing is showing only what i put on the wp site my self
and the welcome "hello"
can any one help/ please

well i tried that but still does not work,
have a nice wordpress front page that i had to make.
but i do not have any of my files from my site on wp?
i do not know what to do now, also i have my site open to the public with all of my info hanging out (my dashboard is available to the public. i do not know how to change this either? any help is greatly appreciated

so sorry i cannot believe that i was so out of my mind working on this darn site
that i gave the wrong www.address

Hi Garnett,
Your Wordpres site is not filling itself. If yo want articles from your old site to appear, you have to copy them into your new wordpress site.
Go into the admin panel/writing/new post and copy into that new post what you want (USE TEXT INSERT to prevent garbage in your layout).

No need to do that. You can go to the old site and under Tools, EXPORT an *.xml file to your hard drive. This contains all your pages, posts, comments and most of your plugin settings. Categories should normally migrate as well, but warning you, sometimes they don't.
Then in the new blog, go to Tools, and IMPORT, it will give you a chance to upload the *.xml file from your hard drive and it will ask you if you want to import file attachments. Always say "yes" to that.

Maybe Joni. I presumed Garnetts'old site was a html site.
