The text won't line up next to the picture like I want to:

Smaller pictures, and lined up right next to the image.

Please be patient and don't bump posts.
To make the thumbnail images smaller, you need to reduce the size of your thumbnail images in Admin/Settings/Media. As changing this now will only affect images that you upload in future, you'll also need to install and run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin to resize your existing thumbnails.
You'll then need to re-insert your images on existing posts before the text.
