Hello, I recently tried to upgrade wordpress, but something went wrong. Whe I try to reactive my plugins, or approve comments, I get warning messages like this:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/www/vhosts/wellingtongrey.net/subdomains/miscellanea/httpdocs/wp-config.php:41) in /var/www/vhosts/wellingtongrey.net/subdomains/miscellanea/httpdocs/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 865

    Any ideas?

If you upgraded via auto-upgrade from admin, try instead to upload the WordPress files via FTP -specifically the wp-includes folder

My auto-upgrade wouldn't work, so I did do the manual upgrade via FTP. This was the result.

Looks like you're using WPMU ... ? In any case, there could be a conflict with codes in your theme's functions.php and new WP/WPMU version. What theme are you using and can you change to default theme and see if you're have the same problem?

I'm using the Comicpress theme, so I can't really switch to the default theme.

I'm not sure what you mean by WPMU.

I just tried re-uploading the wp-includes folder. No luck.

Is it possible to do a complete re-install without losing all my comments, posts etc?

complete re-install without losing all my comments, posts etc

Tools > Export > XML. Backup database and server files. Then do a re-install and import the XML. You just have to reconfigure settings of plugins, if needed if you reinstall via XML. In addition, with the clean XML import, as you activate plugins one by one as well as change theme to ComicPress, you will find which "problem" plugin brings on the error like you found in your first post.

Hmmm. I tried as you suggested to go to the export function. It spit out a page with these warnings at the top:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/www/vhosts/wellingtongrey.net/subdomains/miscellanea/httpdocs/wp-config.php:41) in /var/www/vhosts/wellingtongrey.net/subdomains/miscellanea/httpdocs/wp-admin/includes/export.php on line 33

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/www/vhosts/wellingtongrey.net/subdomains/miscellanea/httpdocs/wp-config.php:41) in /var/www/vhosts/wellingtongrey.net/subdomains/miscellanea/httpdocs/wp-admin/includes/export.php on line 34

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/www/vhosts/wellingtongrey.net/subdomains/miscellanea/httpdocs/wp-config.php:41) in /var/www/vhosts/wellingtongrey.net/subdomains/miscellanea/httpdocs/wp-admin/includes/export.php on line 35

And below that was a bunch of text that looks like my comments. I saved the page as export.php.html. Is it safe to proceed?

P.S. Thanks for all the help.
