When I try to log in as admin (lower case a) and tab to password, my username is changed to Admin (upper case A). My password for 'admin' will not work. The 'forgot pw' routine always gives me a new password for 'admin,' and I'm back to where I started - locked out.
How can I reset both username and password?
Dave
http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
use the phpmyadmin method on password reset
while in phpmyadmin click to browse `wp_users table
next screen click to edit admin user
change user admin to whatever and save

Thanks for the pointer... but how do I get to phpmyadmin if I can't get to the admin panel? I've had so many years of trouble-free administration of my Wordpress that I seem to have forgotten all that I learned.
phpmyadmin is in your host's control panel

Many thanks for your patience, Samboli. I'm finally back on track and should be able to get rolling again.

I'm not doing too well. I can view my site at http://orlop.net, but cannot login by clicking on "login" at the bottom of the home page.
Should not my username and password be the same as I use to SSH to the host, and the ones entered in wp-config.php?
Is the username case-sensitive?
Dave, going in circles.
