   Although comment boxes are appearing on other pages, none are possible on the blog page which is where I need them. They do appear in other themes

   Is the blog page a Page? The current theme may not have a comment-enabled default page template.

   Thanks for your reply, I don't think that is the answer as I reinstalled and all is well
