I tried to install a plugin unfortunately it gives an error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1379231 bytes) in /home/(sitename/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1331

Going through the forum , I read that I need to increase the memory limit.

Can you tell me how do i go about it ?

Where can i find the line ? and increase it ?

    Thanks in advance

Please note that if you are a shared client with a webhost, you also need to be aware of your webhost's data resource allotment. If you are pulling a lot of information by php functions calling your database a lot, you could run into an issue where your webhost may suspend your account.

It does happen and has to many people as you are sharing a server with many other clients who are using up resources too.

    have you tried NextGen gallery?

I would put a separate look into asking the plugin creator in case what was suggested above does not work.

    @ Blondishnet

Thanks. I have not explored NextGen Gallery. Will check it.

Actually I need a slideshow that will incorporate description of the pictures also and that can be activate in posts.

If you can suggest me any better plugin , do let me know.

You might want to try looking in the Plugins directory - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=slideshow

Try a few out. If you have more success with any, I would be absolutely thrilled if you might do a guest blog on your thoughts about that plugin that worked.
