I installed the latest version of the plugin with 2.8.5 and can't set options for things like icon size, style and get ratings for the widgets. Am I overlooking something really basic here?

Widgets saving of settings has little to do with plugin, because it uses new WordPress widgets model, and everything is done through basic WP class. So far no one else reported any similar problem, and I am also working with widgets daily, and no problems on my end.

Posted 3 weeks ago #After upgrading to PHP 5, I now have the ability to have my options saved in the admin area. I believe I was on the minimum requirement for your plugin beforehand.
My problem with the widget still remains. Even though there are rated items, nothing shows up in the sidebar. It opens a UL, but doesn't put anything after it or close itself.

I tested with PHP4.4.8 and PHP4.4.9, and it works. But the problem is that some settings in PHP4 php.ini are the problem. Anyway, GDSR 1.8 will have PHP5 set as minimum requirement.
Empty widget points to widget settings. Default widget needs few votes to show results, so check widget filters.

One more question: am I unable to have the default widget star rating display a thumbnail? I know I can accomplish it with the expanded option. Just curious.

There is a default template that shows image, and you need to set what the image is. And you can always make new template to do exactly what you need.
