• Hi,
I’m interested in using WordPress for a specialist audience, emphasising the pages functionality and the media repository over the blog functionality.
I’m wondering what the best way to rearrange elements in the admin panel is – e.g. to reorder the menu items.

Having studied the plugin API there doesn’t seem any obvious way of going about this. Most of the admin panel plugins seem to just use custom CSS files.

Should I just be hacking the core code?

    Hopeful bump.

    Hey BeatBox,

I ended up hacking the core. While it’s a dirty fix–and I am beginning to believe just completely rewriting the core myself from scratch would be cleaner and more secure–it gets the job done.

    Hopeful Bump x2

I am trying to do the same thing… trying to push wordpress in a more CMS direction… Want to work together?
