   Hope this is the right forum to ask, but has anyone heard of Amazon's new RDS?

   http://aws.amazon.com/rds/

   Wondering if Wordpress (and possibly Drupal, etc) databases can be hosted there while all the other files can be stored on another website.

   Any advantages to this? (fearing my current dedicated server may not have the strength to host a popular blog).

   Yes, it can be done. I have installed WordPress on Amazon RDS. See here.
