[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] CPU usage?

Like many wordpress users on a shared hosting environment, one day you hit a high CPU usage.
I’d like to understand if minify causes much higher CPU usage? I am OK to use more bandwidth, if I can reduce CPU a bit.
