[resolved] HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found can't access wp-admin/install.php (3 posts)

    Hi there.

    I downloaded, unzipped WordPress, then FTP it to my site's root directory. I've made a mySQL database, with a username and password. Then I've entered the correct details into the wp-config.php

    But for some reason I get 'The page cannot be found' HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.

    I've checked on Filezilla, and all the files are there. I've even gone to the server tab and switched on 'force show hidden files'

    innermoonlight had the same problem here (and was resolved)

    My host is quadrahost. There are multiple domain names there. Would that affect it in anyway?

    Any advice would be great!

    HA! I figured it out!

    In case anyone else is having the same problems, I contacted my hosting company who switched on PHP through the web options of my control panel. That took me like two days to figure out.
