Login Box help

I found a hack for a login-box on the old b2 board, and quite liked it. I tried “converting” it to wordpress, but without success. It logs you in, but redirects you to the “post” page, instead of showing a nice little “Hi, you are now logged in”.
I mean thats good and all, but a message would be nice too 😀
Anything I am missing/doing wrong?
(keep in mind, I’m quite new to all this)
