"This theme is released under creative commons licence, all links in the footer should remain intact."

Guys - urgent help required here please !!!!!!

I am (1) fully aware of what I did to the theme footer for the above message to appear and that access to my Blog is now denied.

    (2) Access to my blog was through a Blog Hosting package with LCN, where there is NO FTP access. All control was through the Dashboard. My Hosting firm LCN say that the ONLY way to get the blog up and running is to restart in full again. I.E. an empty blog.

I CAN NOT BELIEVE THERE IS NO WAY TO ACCESS THE DIRECTORIES AND DELETE THE THEME THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THE DATA IS SOMEWHERE - AND SOMEONE MUST BE ABLE TO GET TO IT.

    HELP!!!

Use your host's file manager to delete files.

If your hosting account doesn't give you FTP access or access via some kind of file manager then that means you can't backup your files. At that point please consider moving to a better host.

    Host file manager?

    Sorry, you have lost me.

I have no FTP access. No usual ID/password to access the directories I usually access via FileZilla.

    Am I missing something?

File manager (or something like that) would be offered by your host.

Yes, thats my problem...they don't. only via the WP dashboard.

That's the problem. If I could see the root directory etc. I could delete the theme in question.

You have no file manager. You have no ftp access.

Then either activate another theme, then delete that theme via Appearances->Themes, ask your host to delete the theme folder.

Since you have no access to files, then that means you don't have good backups unless your host does that for you. You might consider doing Tools->Export and moving to a new host.
