Using the standard coding in the right sidebar and using this code in the header for my menu.
" href="index.php?cat=5">Basics"
" href="index.php?cat=1">Hardware"
The Category IDs are correct but when you click on the link either in the menu or the side bar it shows posts in all Categories not just the one you selected. I have searched but no luck on an answer.
Any Suggestions?

I had a script that counted the number of posts on the index.php so that It would automatically show a horizontal line after each post on the home page. This script was interfering with my permalinks. once i removed some of the script. I modified it so that it would keep the horizontal line after each post but it fixed my permalink problem. you can now see it working correctly at my website offering free pc help.

Is it possible you can share with me the changes you made? I have a similar script on my hompage and think your fix could possibly work for me.
