I am working with a fairly new WP site, v 2.8.4. On one host, I can add Custom Fields to posts and pages. On the new (production) host, I cannot add any Custom Fields. I've tried deactivating all of the plugins, with no effect. I've tried using different browsers. I found a post about corruption in the database, but the database is fine. I am out of ideas, and would appreciate suggestions.

Have you tried:
- switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Posted 1 month ago #Thank you for the suggestions. I changed to the default theme, but the problem still existed. I also reset the plugins folder by phpMyAdmin; no change. I reactivated the desired plugins individually to keep the site functional.
