I recently made a fresh install of WordPress on a new Hosting account but I have NOT transferred the nameservers yet. That is on purpose, as we design the new site and will then switch the nameservers to go live.
When I try to login at the url my host gave me for the current site, I can get to wp-login.php, but I get "invalid username" and the landing page with the error is at http://[OLD DOMAIN]/wp-login.php.
I used Fantastico to do the install, which forced me to select a domain to install it on. Is this messing things up?

I have the same problem; I can not log in. I put in the correct username and password and keep getting the "incorrect password" message. When I try to get the password sent to me; I get another error message.
I do not understand what samboll's message means "make sure both url's point to the temp url"
Please contact me or post answer

your problem is definitely not the same
try manually resetting your pass with one of these methods
http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
Thanks! That worked great!
