   I'm trying to update to 2.8.5 automatically, however, after I clicked the button "upgrade automatically" and let it run for a while, the screen shows:
   Could not copy file: /public_html/blog/wp-content/upgrade/wordpress-2.8.5/wordpress/wp-comments-post.php

   Installation Failed

   Can someone tell me what to do to upgrade? Thanks so much!

   Hi,

   I suggest you to upgrade wordpress manually and before that take a complete backup of your blog including database.

   If you are doing through the plugin then disable all other plugins and assign require permissions to blog directory as well as FTP user and then start upgrade.
