   I can't add custom fields as author role user.

   i can only do it if I add the permission 'edit other posts' to authors, but I don't want them to edit other posts, only to add custom fields.

   Is there any way?

   I got it. The problem is that authors are not allowed to edit others posts, and when I try to add a custom field the page refresh and there is not an author for that post, so I can not edit a post that is not mine.

   If I save the post and then click to edit, then I can add custom fields because wordpress already knows that I am editting a post of mine.

   I don't know if my explanation is good. Apologizes...
