The latest twitter tools plugin was slowing down my entire server incredibly...as soon as we disabled it the server was back up and running extremely fast. This plugin needs to be written better, the code is obviously very flawed.

Posted 1 day ago #I'd agree that the plugin isn't very well thought out. I'm now considering removing it from the wordpress mu system I maintain at my university. The problem seems to be that even for blogs which aren't using it, the default option to display the sidebar causes links to js and css files. These take seconds to load for some reason.
Anyone using wordpress mu should avoid this plugin. Likewise busy single wordpress sites.
