chesterrhoderWhle preparing a new post, I discovered that there is a phantom author in my 'post author' selection pulldown menu. An author that I, as sole administrator, have never registered. When I go to the users page, the fantom user is not listed and I get this:
All (8) | Administrator (1) | Contributor (3) | Subscriber (4)
which is exactly what it should be with 8 users.
But when I click on 'Subscriber' or 'Contributor', I get this:
All (9) | Administrator (2) | Contributor (3) | Subscriber (4)
hence a phantom administrator with a total of 9 users.
When I click on 'All' or 'Administrator', it goes back to normal with 8 users. The Phantom administrator never shows up in the list under each of the four categories.
How do I get rid of this Phantom administrator and how did it get there in the first place
