How do I get my site back; it's just a blank page with links to php files... (4 posts)

In my attempt to solve a password problem, I somehow managed to "break" my blog site. I had it all set up, using the MistyLook theme, had posted a few posts, uploaded graphics, etc. Now all I see is a white page with a string of links to php files:

    http://www.ketubahdiva.com

I broke it myself, but not sure how. I was having log-in trouble, and was following the WordPress troubleshooting instructions, deleted and re-uploaded the wp-login.php file, and moved plugin files temporarily out of the plugins folder. May have done something else I can't remember... :-\ Not sure what action broke the site...

I'm guessing I need to reinstall WP and the theme, but I don't want to lose all of my posts! Is there a way to get my blog back without having to build it all from scratch again?

    Thanks!

index.php has been removed from that directory. You will need to replace it and then investigate why it has been changed.

[EDIT] your posts are stored in the database, not the files and folders. Just try replacing the missing index.php file first. That would be the one from the WordPress folder, and not the index.php from a theme.

ClaytonJames, you are BRILLIANT, and I am eternally grateful! My site is BACK UP! THANK YOU THANK YOU!

As to why it was changed, that, I have no doubt, was user error and nothing else. In my attempt to fix a nonexistent login problem I followed the directions on some WP "troubleshooting" page, and I'm sure I deleted or moved that file... I was probably supposed to replace it, but somehow (obviously) managed not to.

THANK YOU again. :-) I really appreciate your willingness to offer advice to a total novice/nontechie.

You're welcome. I'm glad you got it back up and running. Don't forget to do regular backups. They can save you in a real pinch! :-)
