• Currently the links on the wordpress menu (in the archives section) link to a page which show every post from that month in full. Obviously if there’s a lot of posts in that month this results in extremely long pages (same goes if you click a category link).
Would it be possible just to display a list of links to each entry in that month/category? I appreciate this can already be sone (sort of) with archives hacks (like those by MtDewVirus and Dodo) but it’d be nice to have this built into WordPress in some way – you could set archives pages (like blog/2004 or whatever the new permanlink structure says) to display links to entries instead of the entire entry.
    Thanks

  • If you’re already using 1.01, the only solution that I’m aware of is to use MtDew’s narchives hack. If you’d like, I’m running a “hacked up hack” version of what MtDew made and I’d be more than willing to give you the code for it…

I implemented a little mixture of both the new archives he made with the ability to later on down the road, view the posts on a per post basis. It’s up to the admin…

That looks like just what I need. Could you send me the code?

I would like that very much too. Could I have the code also? kathleen@{removethis}silentwhisper.com

I can’t exactly just “send” the code, as it encompasses quite a few files and some CSS stuff. So what I’m going to do is write up a little tutorial on how to do it at my site, and I’ll post the link when it’s done. As I said, it’s very customized to my site, so it might take a while removing all the extra stuff most ppl don’t usually want 🙂
