I just upgraded my Wordpress to 2.8.4 and while my old plugins show up, my new ones that I try to download never show up. Please advise!

Posted 1 month ago #Also, the plugin compatability list doesn't mean much if the ones I've downloaded directly say they're 2.8 compatible. So I've downloaded 2.8 compatible plugins, but my plugin menu isn't showing the new plugins.

Posted 1 month ago #Did you auto-install the new plugins via Admin dashboard or did you FTP-upload in your plugins folder? Did you receive message in admin that the plugin has been installed?
Also, if you auto-installed via dashboard, check that the plugin folders are indeed physically present in your server via cpanel, file manager or FTP. Some servers require CHMOD 777 to plugins folder first and then resetting back to CHMOD 755 after plugin installations.
