   I've downloaded and slightly customized a theme, and now there's this: [img=http://img248.echo.cx/img248/2742/screenshot0jj.jpg] on my sidebar; how do i change the writing in that?

   Try going into Presentation > Theme Editor > Sidebar Template

   At a guess, that text is in sidebar.php... depends what you mean by "change"

   edit the writing there because that was part of the template i adjusted (and is still crediting).
