• Hi, i’m having a vierd problem. When i try to upload images to the media library no images gets saved, an i receive no errors.. The “image” is created as an entry in the DB, but neither original or thumbs are saved to the server!?

I have tried to disable all plugins, grant all access to both “wp-content” and “uploads” (which i by the way had to create manually), and use the browser upload instead of the flash upload.. All without any luck.. What to do now?

    Problem solved 🙂

    dear kongknabe,

Can you share how you solved the problem?

    jakomo

I would like to know also. i’m having the same issue.

jakomo, I just fiddled around and found something.

I’m not sure if anyone needs it anymore, but I had the same problem. I used a server install and it gave me a file directory settings in wordpress. if you go to your admin page then settings -> miscellaneous there are to paths to adjust. The first one was pre-written for me and was an absolute path to my server, not my site. the difference being that it’ll call out my paths starting from my server, which may start with a “/servername/www/mysite/” when perhaps you need it as “http://www.mysite.com”. Once i changed that, I was ok. hope it helps someone.

a relative path works too. just copy and paste the default settings if it’s not already set.

I am on WP 2.9.1, this did it for me also. I just added wp-content/uploads in the “Store uploads in this Folder” under settings -> miscellaneous …. eventhough it said this was the default.

The “Browser” upload method works now but The Flash Uploader still does not work in both WP Media Library and NextGEN Gallery.

Something else that was required just for the WP Media Library was the directory its trying to write to needed 777. My pictures were going into the “01” directory and changed this to drwxrwxrwx. When it was set to 775 it failed. Also the image files it uploading are getting set to rw-rw-rw-, 666. I imagin the other directories will need 777 as the month and year change.
