I have a test site set up, and upgraded to 3.1 RC2, And it appears when I change the active theme, it works for IE and Firefox, but when I browse to the site using Chrome, it is still showing the same theme that was active when I upgraded. I have tried dumping cache and closing and restarting Chrome. Also, I visited multiple pages on the test site in case it was a cache issue, but everywhere I went showed the same old theme
Thanks
Karl
Are you running any caching plugins or drop-ins?

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the quick response, and the heads up. Seems to be an issue with the plugin Theme Switcher. Deactivated it, and everything worked fine.. reactivated and Theme switched back to another one, but only in Chrome. Oddness.
Thanks again
Karl
Karl,
Great, I'll report the issue to the plugin authors, and if all else fails I'll take a look myself.

Karl,
The theme switch plugin isn't meant to switch the theme for everyone; rather, it just sets the theme for whoever chooses it at that point. And the way it works is by setting a cookie in the user's browser to identify which theme that user wants to see.
So that means that if you set the theme you want to see in one browser, you won't see it in another. Bottom line, this is the intended behavior of the plugin. If you want to change the theme's appearance for everyone, you'll have to do that in the admin.

Andrew,
Looks like the plugin was pulling a value from a cookie. Haven't tracked down where it's set yet though.

Thanks Austin.. I hadn't refreshed this page so I didn't see your post. It all makes sense... Sets a cookie based on whatever theme a user selects and leaves it at that for future visits.
Thanks
Karl
