We set up a site on LawIsCool.com a few years ago and used the name of one of our webmasters to do so.
The site has since grown to over 40 contributors, but on RSS feeds and incoming links it still uses the name of the person who first set up the account.
Since we're a student site, when this person graduates it would be misleading to keep using their name. We would want to use a more generic name, but we're not quite sure how to do it.
Help?
If you simply want to change the displayed name and the email address of the primary Administrator, this can be done by any user with administration privileges via Users/Authors & Users. If you need to change the login/username of the primary Administrator, you'll need to amend the relevant entry in the wp_users table using a tool like phpMyAdmin.

Tried that, and that's not where the problem is.
The name is the one on Feedburner (i.e. RSS) and incoming links to other sites.
Try checking the Feedburner account.

Tried that too.
Shouldn't affect inbound links on WP panel for other sites.
