   This plugin does not keep accurate dates for the field <lastmod>
   I had to deactivate the plugin and use my own sitemap.xml file to notify the googlebot that my home page has been updated.
   It would be usefull if it had the ability to change the <lastmod> every time you update your site or be able to manually do it wiht the plugin. The problem is usually the home page is not a static page so this plugin does not update http://yourdomain.com/
   So if you need google to reindex your site.
   1. deactive plugin
   2. edit sitemap file
   3. notify google.
