   I have installed everything, and have a wordpress blog at http://my site.com/hp_wordpress/.

   However, when i type in http://www.mysite.com it comes up with the default web hosting page for my web hosting account. How do i get it to work so that when i put in http://www.mysite.com is displays something instead of going to the hp_wordpress/ site?

   You put the WP files in a folder, while you should have just put them in the root.
   Of course you can still make an html index.html yourself and put that in the root of your domain refering to the WP installation. But start with reading the text above.
