p2 theme: youtube support

    Is anyone able to get the youtube shortcode working on the p2 theme?

    I’m using

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4D2kiekQOI]

    That is the official bracket method shown in the p2 video:
    http://v.wordpress.com/YYNW9iSj

    Except it doesn’t work for me. Does it work for anyone else?

    It turns out that code is specific to wordpress.com.

    I have to say, I really find the lack of native support for <img> and <embed> tags in WordPress to be remarkable.

    People want to share images and videos in their posts AND comments, and WordPress doesn’t make it easy in 2009.

    If anyone out there is trying to do this: one way to accomplish it is to edit your kses.php file to specifically include allowed tags

    there are several methods to use. Smart Youtube is one that is nice, yet simple.

    Hi jschires,

    are you saying using both “P2-theme” and “Smart Tube” will give the solution ?
    Is “Smart Tube” working fine with P2-theme ?

    It’s the same problem with the other plugins, like as Viper’s Video Quicktags.
