   So far I found these themes that looks in the right direction:

   *The Unstandard WordPress Theme

   Any more links and/or recommendations will be greatly helpful and appreciated.

   At the end I went with:

   Which was great.

   I also just downloaded and tweaked their "The Original Premium News"
   http://www.woothemes.com/2007/11/the-original-premium-news/
   And used it here:
   www.danceinisrael.com
