REQ: Some kind of mass edit mode on posts?

    I do think it would be a good idea to have some kind of mass edit mode for the posts, so I can have checkboxes to disable/enable “Allow comments” and “Allow pings” and then save those posts that are checked for update. Because entering each post, disable comments/pings and submit the “whole” post (with post data, title and so on) just to change couple of settings, isn’t very efficient.

    I’m also not sure if ping-o-matic will receive a ping from me on these edit changes? Is that needed when I just want to change the allow settings?

    Maybe I’ll try to make a mod 😛 But don’t hold on your breath.

    That would be very cool. Check out how another plugin uses a similar effect with post management (but nothing on pings and such just posts) at http://www.coldforged.org/the-enhanced-view-plugin/. Something like that for pings and comments would be slicko!

    i thought something like this already existed but I wasn’t looking hard enough. There would many grateful people for such a plugin:)

    Didn’t get the coldforged site to work (until now). But now I have already written my plugin 😛

    Though my plugin went another direction. It didn’t end up as any mod for the admin post management page. Instead it ended up as a “adminbar” on top of the theme. It only shows up when you are logged in or have access to change the post.

    Anyway, my little contribution 😉 (Should post it in the plugin forum maybe…)

    I got inspired by the enhanced-view-plugin you mentioned Lorelle. So I made a plugin with the feature I was requesting myself 🙂

    Though I can’t say it was easy. I went into a solution with “heavy” use of DOM/javascripting and ofcourse some WP action/filter usage.
