I have put nl_NL as the language in the configuration file, and most of the site is now indeed in Dutch.
I also expected plugins wchich have translation files would pick this up. I am using Contact Form 7 which has the file wpcf7-nl_NL.mo in its languages directory. But it is not being picked up.
Als the theme I use has a nl_NL.mo file, but again, it does not show up in dutch at the website.
Have I forgotten something or is this a bug?

I figured out this is an accumulation of coincidance and a possible error in the inline-posts plugin.
The reason that the plug-in (Contact Form 7) did not translate was because during the activation, the messages from the active language are collected and stored seperately. I started in English and switched to Dutch, but that leaves the messages in English. These can be manually translated again (under messages in the admin panel).
So that part is solved.
The reason that the theme stuff does not translate, seems to be caused by having inline-posts in pages. Individual posts and pages messages do translate, but the inline stuff does not (I am not talking about the content of the posts/pages, but the comment, tag, edit, date stuff etc.).
