   I am a designer and new to web. REALLY new to web.. So please forgive me if i miss understand some lingo..

   created a database (file) in my root database becasue i want it to be Website.com/blog/ I named the database "blog" I updated the congif file and renamed it. updated the username and password to my FTP login username and password ( is this correct) and I have tried a few different things with the DB Host.. localhost is not working and i tried 127.0.0.1 and that didn't work either.. the error I am getting is

   •Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
   •Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
   •Are you sure that the database server is running?

   what do I do??

   Oh and I do not have a control panel.. I am looking at the ftp and its just databases and .php files.

   A database is not a file in your ftp area, it's hosted on a mysql server. Your hosting provider should be able to tell you how to create a database, what the username and password would be, and what the host name of the database server is.
