leonardjpayneI've seen some comment on this but still no answer.
1. Upload via FTP a plugin folder
2. Not recognized by WP2.8.4
3. Upload it as a zip by inbuilt facility but says 'no header'
4. Some bright spark on a forum suggested moving it outside the folder
i.e. move contents of ..../wp-content/plugins/my-plugin/
to ..../wp-content/plugins/
which makes for a very messey plugins folder.
Sometimes this method works especially if the plugin was a simple php
but for anything more complex with multiple files, it really doesnt work and lets face it, its a quick hack.
Problem has been around for some time, and our operations depend on plugins operating --- any suggestions folks??
