Hi there,
Just discovered that WP will do future posts and am getting ready to dump a whole pile of content into my site.
Just wondering if it pings in the future too, or what happens? Say if I put something in that will go live in a week, will it ping all the services today and then do nothing in one weeks time when the post is live?
We don't support future pinging yet.

Ok, will it be an added feature in future releases?
Hi,
I've been watching this thread and I would be interested in the answer to this question too. How about it -- any plans for implementing pings at the time future posts go live?
Regards,
Rob
Hmm, what is futire posts?
Posts you make and set to publish at some time "ahead". If you write a post today (4/29 or 4/30 depending on where you are in the world), and don't want it to go "live" until 5/10....

There is a plugin, wp-cron that does this.
Cron - Symmetry In My Mind
I didn't even know it already sent a ping directly, thanks for that info.

Anyone got a URL for that wp-cron plugin? I just clicked to find that the hosting account is suspended.
Hi dailyjapan
Here is the URL for the wp-cron plugin

have a look at the wp-cron-future-pings example.
