• Is there any way to get the title and description on the slide show image or as a caption below the slide show?

  • I’m having the same problem. I can’t get the slideshow to display any title or description info, although I can see it functioning here: http://nextgen-gallery.com/slideshow/ and here (on mouseover): http://nextgen-gallery.com/nggallery/page-166/slideshow/

I’ve tried both [slideshow id=2] and [nggallery id=2 template=caption] but they only display the slideshow sans captions. I do have the description fields filled in, in the gallery.

    Any ideas?

Ah, partial success! I checked “Show navigation bar:” under slideshow options, and it’s now showing — however only on mouseover and the text isn’t wrapping, so it gets cut off on both ends.

Is there a way I can force captions/descriptions to always display?

And is there a way to force wordwrap?

had the same problem… it´s in the imagerotator?! just open an other gallery for slideshow issues without captions…

works for me… but´s still an detour!

tingeltangle – please explain how you did that as I am trying to get captions below or to the side of my slideshow (not over the pic).

Sorry to bring up an old post, but did anyone ever figure out how to force the descriptions to word-wrap?

    Many thanks.

i’ve searched all the threads and this is the best thread for this topic – all it needs is resolving!

i would hope that it could be controlled via css, but would like to know what to tag – .slideshow desc? will try a few things

PLEASE if someone has an answer to this – put us all out of our misery

it appears that the slideshow navigation height is set, so that if you add a linebreak to the description, it drops off the bottom; without the linebreak the text expands width-wise unsatisfactorily.

if the navigation height could be set to expand automatically, users could place linebreaks throughout any long descriptions and it would display properly in the slideshow

bit of a workaround, but impossible without the auto-height functionality in the navigation.

i assume this is something to do with the imagerotator and perhaps something the nextgen team needs to look at, as we don’t have access to the fla file?

could i request that nextgen look into this as a possible workaround? i’ll look around for somewhere to make the request…

    best wishes

Put me on the list of those continously searching for a solution to this odd “cut-off description” issue!
