    Dear friends,

I have a very nasty issue. Until a few days had version 2.6.3 running. I activated some plugins to stop the spam like:
    - akismet
    - math-comment-spam-protection
    - si-captcha-for-wordpress

    After this I received:
    500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    1. I deleted the files, uploaded the backup and the same error.
    2. Started a new install and the same error stands up.
    3. Uploaded 2.8.4-IIS and the same, nothing works.

I mention that the web hosting service is windows based.

What do you think I should do, I tryed all the options I know...

    Thank you in advance.

    Daniel

    Daniel,

The first thing I would try is to rename the plugin folder and see if you still get the error. If not, you need to re-enable each plugin one at a time to see which one is causing the problem.

If that doesn't work, can you list what you've tried as well?

    Hi Protocol16,

for about almost a week I'm reading this forum and can't solve the issue.

My problem is to install the new version. I deleted all the old files, the database, everything.

After I uploaded he new version (2.8.4-IIS) still gives me this error, the same with a fresh new install of 2.6.3.

This error showed up after I activated the above plugins. Do you think that was something that affected the server configuration? or could be a server problem?

You're still pointing to a plugin issue. Did you rename the plugin directory?

The HTTP error log would probably be a huge help right now. Can you grab that and see what the last few lines are?

ok, I think that the log from C:\Inetpub\vhosts\xxx\subdomains\blog\statistics\logs\W3SVC27106 could help, but it's to big to post it here...

Just the last few lines that specify the 500 error should be all we need for this issue.
