[resolved] Playing with htaccess and "blog address url" setting - dead site now! (3 posts)

I was messing around with the root .htaccess file to redirect urls into the /wordpress/ directory. I then found the setting to specify the address of the blog, so I changed that, too. Then things weren't working quite right, so I took the 301 redirect code out of the root .htaccess and the site is now completely buggered.

Where can I go change the blog address setting back to /wordpress? None of the admin pages will load and anything else gives me either the WP 404 or a default 404. Help! (I've cleared the WP stuff from the root .htaccess.)

Thank you! That was a big help and the site is back up and running.

As usual, this would have been a trivial matter if I had read the instructions first! Like many self-taught-tech-wizards, I usually do first and only read the instructions when something goes wrong.

The instructions are linked right there on the General Settings page next to the space for the "Blog address (URL)". (codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory)
