Not sure what it is asking for but I cannot use Akismet API code it requests as it states the API code is for blogs on WP.com rather than WP.ORG. I have a WP.COM blog as well, but I set up a new self hosted blog on WP.Org. Can I use this software? I do not want to use it for the WP.com site and it only asks for the site used under their hosted platform to get an API Code.
My hosted website is http://www.WineFoodChat.com if needed.

Yes, you can use Akismet on a self-hosted wordpress.org blog. However, you need to get an API key from wordpress.com to do so.
Since you already have a wp.com blog, log in to the site and go to My Account >> Edit Profile. Your API key will be listed at the very top.
Copy this into the appropriate settings on your wp.org blog's dashboard (Plugins >> Akismet Configuration). Save your settings and viola! You'll now have all of the features of Akismet on your wp.org blog.
