Or better asked: what is in the WP database? Do I backup all my blog files, including plugins, their settings, widgets and their content or settings, themes and settings etc.?

It is an interesting question because a full backup with with DirtectAdmin backs up ALL my stuff and generates a 1,5 MB file. If I want to store that somewhere else, I use 1,5 MB of bandwidth every time I FTP it off site.

The database holds your posts, pages, categories, tags, users, options (e.g. settings) and that's what the plugin is backing up. But there are also your files, in particular your theme and uploads that should be backed up.

So, you need to backup both your database and WordPress files as described in WordPress Backups.

    Michael,

Thanx for the pointer. Should have searched before asking :-) The instructions are clear.

    Cheers,

    Carlo
